Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty, or Nose Augmentation, is a term for the treatment whereby we use a combination of minimally invasive procedures to sculpt and refine the shape of the nose. This treatment works to eliminate insecurities and create proportional balance to the face. Common concerns are often led by an uneven bridge, an asymmetric mid-line or a downward-turned tip of the nose, all of which can result in an imposing feature and unbalanced profile.

Usually characterised by the use of hyaluronic acid dermal filler – clever placement of product, carefully administered by your SAS Aesthetics doctor, is able to mimic and define the look of bone and cartilage: to smooth the mid-line; even-out and straighten the bridge; sculpted to compliment the natural features of your face. Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty is regularly teamed with other facial contouring treatments such as Jawline/Chin Sculpting and Lip Enhancement to achieve overall profile-balancing and can be part of our Facial Contouring Packages.

Further to the use of dermal / nose filler, dissolvable suture threads, small doses of botulinum toxin A, or a combination of multiple techniques can work together delicately to effectively augment and alter the nose without the need for surgery. This treatment is much less invasive than surgical rhinoplasty, with fewer complications, and although not completely permanent, results are expected to last typically between 6-12 months.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you achieve a non-surgical Rhinoplasty / nose reshaping?

The most common technique, uses fillers to smooth out any bumps on the bridge of the nose to make the profile of the nose straighter. Dermal filler can also be placed at the tip of the nose to lift and create a more feminine shape. Botulinum toxin A can also be injected below the tip of the nose to relax the muscle pulling it down resulting in a lifted tip. More recently PDO threads are being used to lift the tip and straighten the bridge simultaneously. This is a more desired technique in those who want to change the shape of their nose without adding too much volume to their nose.

How long will the results last?

Depending on which treatment you choose, the longevity is different. Botulium Toxin A lasts 3-6 months. Dermal fillers last 9-12 months. PDO threads last longer up to 2 years.

How quickly will I see the results?

The dermal filler and PDO thread results are instant, but allow 2-3 weeks for all swelling to settle for the absolute final result to show.

What are the complications?

Swelling and bruising are the main complications. In the hands of a poorly trained injector there is the risk of blockage of the blood vessels which may cause necrosis. Always take extra care when choosing your injector.

Will it hurt?

You will be given high dose Lidocaine based numbing cream with great potency making the treatment relatively painless.

What should I avoid?

As with all aesthetics treatments, consumption of alcohol should be avoided for 12 hours before and after treatment, the same is said for smoking but for 6 hours. Particular to this treatment, you should avoid any pressure on your nose for 2-3 weeks and that includes avoiding the use of glasses/ sunglasses.

Can I go back to work after nose filler treatment?

Yes, this is very much a lunchtime procedure only minor side effects which shouldn’t prevent you from going into work.

What happens during my appointment?

You will be given a full consultation, where you can discuss the results you want as well as go through in medical or aesthetics history you have. You will then go through to have the treatment. Numbing cream is applied and allowed to take effect over 10-15 minutes. Your doctor will then inject dermal filler, botulium toxin or PDO threads to achieve the desired result this usually takes 5-10 minutes. You will have some swelling after the injections. You are therefore encouraged to take arnica tablets (can be purchased at most local drug stores) before and after the treatment.
