Whether you suffer with fine lines above your lips (smokers/ kissing lines) or simply want a natural alternative to lip fillers – Upper Lip Flip treatment may be the best option for you.
Upper Lip Flip is made up of a number of very small injections administered with absolute precision and an ultra-fine needle. The injections contain a substance called Botulinum Toxin A – a protein which works by blocking the release of a neurotransmitter called acetylcholine. This in turn stops the muscle from contracting.
When injected in small doses, the Botulinum Toxin A will cause the muscle of the upper lip to relax: as a result, the overlying skin becomes more taught – reducing the appearance of fine lines as well as pulling up the red of the upper lip to make it appear plumper.
Appropriate doses as advised by your SAS Aesthetics doctor will not restrict expressive movement, but subtly enhance your appearance for a natural look.

Botulinum Toxin A is a protein which works by blocking the release of a neurotransmitter called acetylcholine. This in turn stops the muscle from contracting. When injected in small doses, the Botulinum Toxin A will cause the muscle to relax: as a result the overlying skin becomes smoother and fine lines and wrinkles will disappear.
The results appear gradually and often take 3-14 days to reach the final effect.
Each person is different but the results from Botulinum Toxin A injection typically last between 3-6 months.
The treatment is relatively pain free and requires no anaesthesia.
The benefit of anti-wrinkle injection is that they are temporary and wear off over time making them ideal for clients who want a more natural result. The most common side effects however are bruising and swelling which often resolve over a period of a few days.
We often discourage consumption of alcohol 12 hours before and after your treatment. Smoking should be avoided 6 hours before and after your treatment. Both these factors affect the likelihood of you bruising. Other things to avoid are hot showers, saunas as well as exercise for 24 hours and avoid sunbathing or sunbeds for up to 7 days.
No – over time as the muscle relaxes and the acetylcholine receptors become less active you will need less injections with longer periods between each treatment.
Yes, you are eligible for a top up 2-3 weeks after your treatment. However, we cannot offer this service outside of this time period.
Yes – the absolute contra-indications are pregnancy, breastfeeding and more rarely medical conditions such as myasthenia Gravis. Relative contra-indications are the use of blood thinning medications (please discuss this with your doctor during your consultation).
For clients between the age of 26-35 years we recommend preventative botulinum toxin which will slow the signs of aging as the skin starts to lose collagen with time. An age appropriate dose of botulinum toxin is injected in the areas you want to address and over time a natural result will prevent your skin from developing fine lines and wrinkles.
Yes, we do – it’s the only non-surgical treatment proven to work.
While both treatments aim to enhance the lips, the Upper Lip Flip utilises Botulinum Toxin A to relax the muscle of the upper lip, thereby creating a subtle lift and reducing the appearance of fine lines. Lip fillers, on the other hand, use hyaluronic acid or other substances to directly add volume to the lips.
When performed correctly by a trained professional, the Upper Lip Flip should not significantly alter your speech or smile. However, it’s essential to communicate with your practitioner if you notice any changes post-treatment.
Our aim at SAS Aesthetics is to achieve natural-looking results. Overcorrection is unlikely when using appropriate doses and techniques. It’s crucial to trust a qualified and experienced professional for this treatment.
Absolutely! The Upper Lip Flip is suitable for both men and women looking for a subtle enhancement without adding volume.
The treatment requires no downtime, and you can resume your daily activities immediately. However, it’s best to avoid strenuous activities and exposure to extreme temperatures for at least 24 hours.
It’s advisable to wait at least 24 hours before applying makeup or undergoing other lip treatments to prevent potential complications.
Botulinum Toxin A is temporary and will naturally wear off over time. However, if you have concerns about the results, it’s crucial to communicate with your practitioner for potential solutions.
No specific dietary restrictions are required post-treatment. However, staying hydrated and maintaining a balanced diet can help promote overall skin health.
Yes, the Upper Lip Flip can be combined with other treatments, but it’s essential to discuss this with your practitioner to ensure the best results and avoid potential complications.
No, the Upper Lip Flip is a non-surgical procedure, and when performed correctly, it shouldn’t leave any scars or permanent marks.
Dr Saleki is the sweetest and most professional Dr ever! I was really nervous and she completely put me at ease for my fox eye thread lift!
I was a bit nervous, Dr Mahsa was lovely, she couldn’t of been more professional and kind. I had nose threads and the procedure was quick and apart from a bit of discomfort with the anaesthetic, the rest was totally pain free. I am 3 days post treatment and still a bit swollen but other than that everything has been very smooth and I feel fine. I’m excited to see the settled results. Would I recommend, 100% yes.
First time I every had any treatment and it was a brilliant experience, The Dr was very Calm and compassionate and clear. I read about a treatment threading but she said I didn’t need it and suggested fillers and fat dissolving which has work for me, definitely go again even though it took me over 2hours to get there.
