Frequently Asked Questions

What are Eye Bags?

Eye bags are the puffiness or swelling under the eyes that can create a tired or aged appearance. This can be caused by a variety of factors, including genetics, ageing, lifestyle habits, and medical conditions. While getting enough rest and staying hydrated can help alleviate mild eye bags, some cases require professional treatments to address the issue.

Non-Surgical Eye Bag Treatments at SAS Aesthetics

At SAS Aesthetics, we offer several non-surgical treatments to help reduce the appearance of eye bags and refresh your look. Our treatments are minimally invasive, with little to no downtime, and offer natural-looking results.

Under Eye Dermal Filler

Dermal fillers are a popular treatment option for reducing the appearance of under-eye bags. This treatment involves injecting a small amount of filler into the hollows under the eyes to restore volume and reduce the appearance of dark circles and bags. Our experienced practitioners use only premium dermal fillers to ensure a safe and effective treatment.

What is tear trough filler?

Dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid. This is a natural substance which is normally found in the skin and other parts of the body such as the eyes. Hyaluronic acid is a gel substance that absorbs water very strongly and can therefore be injected into the skin to add volume and smooth out deeper lines.

What is dark circle mesotherapy?

Dark Circle Mesotherapy is a minimally invasive skin treatment, which targets pigmentation, dull skin, dehydration, fine lines and wrinkles and hair loss with results often seen after as few as 3 sessions. The treatment itself is a series of microinjections of a mixture of vitamins, anti radicals and amino acids into the mesodermal layer of the skin. The result is tighter, more nourished and rejuvenated skin whilst promoting the production of collagen and elastin, essential in maintaining the skin’s natural elasticity.

Are there any contraindications?

Due to the presence of some active ingredients within the mesotherapy solutions. The treatment isn’t recommended for pregnant women or those at the early stages of breastfeeding.

How soon after the treatment can I expect to see results?

Results from non-surgical eye bag treatments can often be seen immediately after the procedure. However, optimal results typically develop over the subsequent weeks as any swelling subsides and the fillers settle.

How do lifestyle factors like diet, stress, and sleep affect eye bags?

Factors like diet, high salt intake, excessive alcohol consumption, smoking, stress, and lack of sleep can exacerbate the appearance of eye bags. Maintaining a balanced lifestyle can help in reducing the severity of eye bags.

Is the eye bag treatment suitable for all skin types?

Yes, our treatments cater to a variety of skin types. However, individual consultations are essential to assess the suitability and tailor the treatment accordingly.

Are there any potential allergic reactions to the treatments?

Allergic reactions are rare as the materials used, like hyaluronic acid, are naturally found in the body. However, its crucial to discuss any allergies or concerns with your practitioner during the consultation.

Can I wear contact lenses post-treatment?

We recommend avoiding contact lenses for at least 24 hours after treatment to prevent any potential irritation or complications.

What is the difference between tear trough fillers and dark circle mesotherapy?

Tear trough fillers focus on adding volume to the under-eye hollows, reducing the appearance of bags and dark circles. In contrast, dark circle mesotherapy targets pigmentation, dehydration, and overall skin rejuvenation through microinjections of vitamins and other ingredients.

Are there any long-term side effects of under-eye treatments?

Long-term side effects are pretty rare when treatments are administered by our trained professionals. However, as with any medical procedure, theres a possibility of unforeseen complications. Regular check-ups and follow-ups are advised.

How do I know which treatment is right for me?

A consultation with one of our experienced practitioners will help determine the most suitable treatment based on your unique concerns, skin type, and desired outcomes.

How often will I need to repeat the treatment to maintain results?

While results can last up to 12 months, the exact duration varies based on individual factors. Typically, maintenance treatments are recommended every 9-12 months.
